US postal localities
US city, state, and ZIP relationships reference the GeoNames US postal file retrieved on 2026-09-05, containing 40,977 rows. GeoNames provides data under CC BY 4.0; the downloaded package’s license notice is retained in the project.
Coordinates identify a postal area or locality reference, not the invented street address. A ZIP can include several locality names or delivery areas. The tool does not certify an address with the US Postal Service.
International samples
Twenty other countries and territories use public locality-reference samples and aliases. Place names assist with format testing, but this is not a complete postal database. Some postal fields are synthetic format values and need separate verification for real-world use.
Filters outside the available coverage return no match. The service does not quietly substitute a different city.
Generated fields and reproducibility
Street names use Example, Sample, Test, or local-language equivalents. Profile fields are generated. US identifier examples use an unassignable 000 prefix, other identifier examples include TEST, and email and website fields use .test. Card fields contain sandbox test examples only.
A new generation can produce different values. Export a fixture and record its filters and collection date when a test needs repeatability. Do not use a changing random page as a stable assertion baseline.
Suggesting a correction
Report the page, filters, and a reliable public reference for a locality or formatting issue. Do not upload customer datasets or screenshots containing sensitive information.
